Mounting Tension As Voting Day Essay

Obama says: "Ensure More Accountability in the Subprime Mortgage Industry: Obama has been closely monitoring the subprime mortgage situation for years, and introduced comprehensive legislation over a year ago to fight mortgage fraud and protect consumers against abusive lending practices. Obama's STOP FRAUD Act provides the first federal definition of mortgage fraud, increases funding for federal and state law enforcement programs, creates new criminal penalties for mortgage professionals found guilty of fraud, and requires industry insiders to report suspicious activity (Obama, 2008, 15)."

This same report addresses every issue on the voters' mind: healthcare, immigration, the war in Iraq; and others that some voters might not have considered, like aging and civil rights (Obama, 15). It looks like Obama actually has a plan, but we don't get as much of the plan, as we do discussion on what Obama has been monitoring, and wants to do.

John McCain's official site, found online at Johnmccain.com, has no creative marketing tool. It has current news...

Instead, voters get a recap of the weeks events, and the issues. McCain seems more careful -- and careful is the right word, because, if elected, Obama's plan, his promise to Americans, is in writing. McCain, on the other hand, appears to be pinning his hopes less on answering the problems before he is in office, and more on the lure of his running mate, Sarah Palin, to draw voters to his side. He is to some degree getting what he wants, because choosing Palin as his running mate has indeed decreased the margin between himself and Obama.
